  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TXC 511 Supermoto

58Driver

Husqvarna
B Class
Hey all. I just picked up this 2011 TXC 511 from a guy in NC.
It came with some nice stuff including
FMF Megabomb with 4.1 silencer
seat concepts seat
Trail Tech GPS computer
Trail Tech X2 headlight
ZipTy license plate bracket
Warp 9 Sumo wheels 5" and 3.5".
Excel dirt rims

The bike is virtually identical to the one in this video including some puzzling bits of wire on the inner part of the hand guards

If anyone knows of the history of this bike please let me know.
I brought it home Friday and have been to busy to get started really checking it out.

My only planned mods are PCV with autotune, ZipTy oil tank, Mobil 1 0w40, TC airbox cover

I have never mounted a wideband sensor on a single. What do you guys think is the best place for it on the Megabomb header?

Thanks Dave

That's where I found it too. I know this bike came from AZ. The PO claimed it was owned by someone at ZipTy. It's identical to the bike in the vid.
I'm just curious what the history really is.

Santa came early to my house.
I read in another forum that the best place to mount the wideband sensor was after the megabomb on the FMF. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Dave

Not the best picture to show this, this picture was for our new rear brake reservoir caps. But you can clearly see the bung for my Autotune is welded in after the resonator on my FMF megabomb. Angled slightly to miss the oil recirculation tank. :D

Just a quick status update:
PCV and autotune -- got it
Stainless o2 bung -- got it
ZipTy oil tank /breather -- ordered it
Te ignition switch -- got it
Tc airbox lid -- on backorder
Stainless oil filter -- got it.

As soon as the filter cover and oil system get here I'm tearing into this project!!

Got some stuff done yesterday. I started out just taking stuff off and cleaning in preparation for the breather tank/crankcase vent mod.
I got the valve cover drilled out, the breather mounted and the cover reinstalled.
I started routing the hoses and ran out of time last night. I should have everything but the tc airbox cover done by the end of the weekend. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Like your stand, what I use when it's not being used. Parts everywhere though. We buy those color molded parts organizer trays. They really help out when dismantling these machines. While you have her apart, don't put the ground back on the left side of the head, mount it onto the frame above.

Will do on the ground wire. Thanks.
I wasn't thinking I was going to tear it down this far this time. I'm like a lost dog I get going and just move from one thing to the next, then look up and don't know where I am.
Kidding but sorta not. Got my breather buttoned up and gonna start on the PCV next.

Check out what I found when cleaning the forks up

I got some good work done today. Wish I was finished but it wasn't in the cards.

I got the PCV wired up and the factory ZipTy map loaded (Thanks for sharing Tinken). It seems to be working properly so far.
I'm stuck on the power for the autotune. Since the TXC doesn't have a key or any kind of switch for ignition, I need to figure out a 12 v source to power the autotune.

I borrowed an extra argon tank and welded the bung for the wideband sensor

Got the cooling system back together and added the temp sensor for the trail tech voyager.

Also tapped the coil signal wire to try to get a tack signal. ( don't know if this will work yet. )

I'm still waiting on the tc airbox cover and I need to lower the shifter one spline. Then we are ride ready. I hope there's an early spring or global warming kicks in.... I don't know how long I can look at this thing and not ride it.

I spoke with tech support at Dynojet yesterday and they were very helpful. I read in another post about autotune on a 510 that it was powered off of the coil +12v. I figured since the pcv for my bike only had a ground connection that it was powered off of the coil since there is a pcv plug that intercepts the coil wires. I was afraid that the voltage drop would be to great when the heat for the O2 sensor was running and interfere with the pcv or the coil.

The tech rep I spoke to suggested tapping 12 v off of the voltage regulator. I'll be testing it to see if it works. Hopefully is only powered when the engine is running.

I ran my hour meter off of the fuel pump relay under the air box. No isuse. I assuming there ahould be plenty of power there or the voltage regulator on the frame near there too. Let em know how it works. I still need to hook mine up but no rush supermoto season is still a few months away here.
