  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey Kelly...I know one is way better off selling an old bike private then to trade it in on a new one...

But did you talk it over with Jeff?:excuseme:
I mean this is your 7th. bike, he should have come close for you...

yeah, no problem there. Going to try and sell it first and then maybe talk about a trade in. this economy has been rough on the dealers and i know they have a lot of money out and not much coming back right now. Want to try and sell it first so they get a better deal as well. It is a two way street and relationship so I'll try this approach and if it does not go I'll look at alternatives. Need to advertise it local which i will do this weekend.

thanks.

Kelly,

Are you at all interested in selling it as is with the smr package? I know someone that is looking for exactly that.

Just forget to tell her it is part of my living to understand and build parts for these bikes  About time I tackled the EFI thing.

I was already planning to delete that "insignificant" little detail from my story. :D

7???

I bought a 2004, 2006, 2007 a 2nd 2007 a 2008. That is only five but I also bought a 1995, a 1996, a 1999 and a 2000 from the same "other" guy involved with Tasky that has been a Husky dealer since the early 90's. So that is nine huskys in total. Can you beat that???

Not too proud of this, from Ridersville Cycle the Years I have bought Huskies: 92, 94, 95, 96, 98, 02, 04, 06x2, 07x2, '08x2, and now a 2010 TXC 250. I swear after this one I am going into rehab.

My hero! I need to buy more bikes!:busted:

Well I did it, I picked it up the 2010 TXC 250 Friday. It is very sweet but there are a few things I think Husky will address and take care of. In the box this is what my bike came with: A 50 Tooth rear sprocket and a longer O-Ring Chain, holeshot device with Hardware (and instructions), A quick reference manual, a usb flash drive manual. There is a throttle stop (metal bracket this year), Catalytic converter in front of the silencer, air cage baffle. The bike needs/did not come with: Racing air filter cage, rear silencer pipe guard, O2 exhaust plug, wire crossover to get to the race map. Again this could only be mine but I doubt it. Husky has already been made aware and I am sure they will take care of it. It does have a removable spark arrestor in the silencer as well.
