  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 tc250: What mods work?

I've only started it once, but it fired off first kick.

I swapped the bar mounts, put on my Renthal twin walls, 788 Pro-grips, quick turn throttle tube and hand guards. I'm ready to ride!

Has anyone looked into high compression pistons? It seems my '06 is already 12.9:1 but I was wondering if a little more would help..? F.B.F. sells re-badged Wiseco pistons but they're only .1:1 higher at a 13:1 CR...

Also, has anyone done any cams/porting/valves? Im just looking for a little more power to do better against other 250's

I race supermoto. Bike has Husqvarna (arrow?) full titanium exhaust, JD jet kit, adj. leak jet, and thats it...

I do not think anyone makes a cam for this bike. ZipTy can do porting I believe. Also, if I remember correctly the piston is already 13.6/1 compression, but I may be wrong because that sounds high.

How do you do against the other 250s? Where do they out power you?

The stock CR is 12.9:1...At least for 2006 it is. Seems like the bottom end is close, and they usually get me on the straights. But I was hoping to do something to get some more top end without losing any bottom.. Maybe try for an increase in Hp and torque if at all possible.

GP motorcycles in San Diego suggested doing a new set of valves and springs(not sure what kind as they didnt say...) and a porting job.

What kind of porting are people doing? By hand or on a CNC mill??
