Hi all, Still trying to rectify the saga of rebuilding my 2006 TE610. I ended up sending out my trashed head to Hall's for rebuild, only to find out that the exhaust valves are NLA from Husky Austria. I do have the head from a 2008 TE610 that supposedly has a new exhaust valve, so hopefully they can make one good head out of 3. My question is does anyone know if the 93-01 Kibblewhite valves will work or is the shape/seat, stem OD, etc. etc. make it impossible? Was going to order one for laughs and throw it on the optical comparator and see how much different it is to the 06+ exhaust valves. Guessing the auto-decompression system makes them different, but I'm curious to see. Any help or ideas welcome, Thanks!
Per Hall's, the 93-01 exhaust valves are about 3mm different on the retainer location and overall length due to a change in rocker arm design. Spoke with Kibblewhite about remanufacturing them and it should take about 1-4 weeks to custom manufacture some replacements. Taking some measurements on the optical comparator at work today... i find it hard to believe that they're aren't some valves out there for this machine, i would do some more checking, i looked at motosport, and they were no longer available for 2006, but listed them in stock for 2007
Hmm, interesting. I didn't even think that the 07 and 08's had different exhaust valves and apparently they do after you mentioning it and checking against the parts fiche. I've been working with hall's to rebuild this head, they had mentioned a difference in the 06 and 01 and earlier valves, but nothing about the 06 vs 07-08 valves. I will call them on Tuesday and find out...
Might worth trying these guys http://shop.italhusky.com/en/products/2006/sms-te-610 http://www.husqyparts.com/en/model/2006/sm_610_1/oem http://www.motosupplies.com/parts/ At least it might give you a few more options
