    Still not completely clear, but what I'm thinking you might like (and this may be what you have) is to get a set of the later year triples from a single shock bike. They have more offset and help the bike turn, and they have a solidly mounted 7/8" bar clamp. To me, it gives the whole bike a better feel. And no rubber cones for that gorilla to destroy!

    Magnesium can be welded by a good welder.....dont give up. Before splitting cases try to find a good welder.
