1973 Wr250 Swing Arm Bushings/bearings?

My 1973 has swingarm bushings. Has anyone replaced these with needle bearings? Seems like the bushings are very limiting for the shocks. Thoughts?

A bronze bushing provides more support than a needle bearing. With the 4" of travel on the rear of the MK frames, the pivot actually rotates very little. There should be no difference in how freely the swingarm moves between a bronze bushing and a needle bearing.

I installed stainless sleeves inside bronze bushings on my 75 MK frame 450 and they've held up great. Its neat to be able to pivot the swingarm freely from the ground to the fender when the shocks are off.

Bike buzzards are only about 20$ more than doing it your self from Mcmaster Carr. And you save a little more every set by reusing the reamer.

My 2 stainless sleeves from Mcmaster were $10.50 each and I used two Husky clutch basket bronze bushings I had laying around. Also there was enough room to add o-rings to each side of the bushings. Had to shorten the bushings but what else is there to do when your retired and looking for a reason to work on your scooter.

What size bushings and or part number from Mcmaster Carr?
