    Hi all,

I've got an EFI TE510 with a seized engine (only 2600 miles) that I bought as a parts bike. Just wondering if anyone has tried or seen a different motor swapped into the chassis. Because while I love the suspension and handling on these bikes I don't actually need the power of a 510, especially off road. I'm pretty sure I can get a 250/310/450 motor to fit, assuming I also acquired all the accouterments. If there's anyone who has done something crazier (like put in an engine from an XR400R), I'd like to hear about it :)

    Thanks,

    Alex

all three of those are the exact same engine for 08'. I'm not sure if there's any small differences on the 250, but the 450 is the same.

Yep all the same crank cases across the range until the 2011's. Just different stroke and bores

Yeah I know the 250/310/450 will fit, mostly wondering if anyone has stuffed anything else into the frame, like an engine from a 610 :p

I've got an 08 450 roller sitting here also that I'm debating on what to put in it. A 500 smoker is cool, but ultimately not that usable for where I ride. The less cool but much more usable choice currently on my list is a kdx200 engine

It is very rideable if you have ever been on one. Tons tons tons of low end torque and almost unstallable with a weight.
