Right so here it is ready for packing been told the guys I'm sending it to for re gas n oil will cost 50 quid Inc return postage.
The only niggle I've got with the whole thing is that internal rebound shaft you know the one that I cut down. Well think I took a little much off even thought I allowed a bit then filed it, seems it is too short.

As mentioned it should have 20odd clicks well it's good got 34. Lol so that means I can't fully shut the thing off.
I will be looking for another shaft or make one out of Ali bar. Ffs

May just hold off doing that :|

Right so my two 200mm T6 8026 Ali rods should be here Monday, measured the rod I cut down so that was exactly an inch I cut off.
The extra length I require was 1.5mm so my rod should end up at 173.5mm

Measured with pay doh made by my surrogate daughter! Thanks rhi ;)
So close having this shock running it's hurting me.

172mm rod, extra crushed play doh 1.5mm

Not saying i cut bar wrong or machinest cut shaft wrong but the tube did require a bit of fettling with file to get that collar on properly... yay home stretch now.

So my rod turned up I fettled with it for best part of 20 mins, now I have 24 clicks of adjustment. This is plenty close enough as without the rod in I wound the rebound screw fully in and it has over 50 clicks....

Re built shock got to wrap it and post it off.

Right so i called up suspension place and they hadn't opened the package... lol

So told them to re gas and oil it as per discussion.
6 hours later I get a phone call saying it's all gone fine and will be sent out soon.
So we will be installing a sexy öhlins shock for next weekend's riding!

So here's where I am, have fitted the sexy unit that is öhlins TTX 44 made sure everything was nice an done up (shock fits perfect)
Now thought rebound was far too slow so checked lower that was backed out and checked higher that was on 3 so removed side panel to get access.
Bounced it for a while at two stood to the side kick bike down and rebound still slow. So click it to one, repeat... much better few jump bounces and it's coming up nice an smooth. Lovely.

Now compression I've 23 clicks so had that wound open to so shoved that to 12 about half way bounce test.. good I'm pleased.

Now get my sag stick out.
    Static sag 30mm- boom perfect
Race sag 70mm- cack. The spring pre load is right backed out so I'm gunna have to grab the next one down in rate as it's to stiff. No?
As far as test ride I will be requiring a snorkel to test with so that's where I am.
    Pleased with the smoothness
    Irritated bout spring.

Isn't it the other way round it's too soft u nd to go firmer spring rate? Opposite to wat ud think itd be. Dya try it with 10-20mm preload?

I dunno man I'm like 75kg so with no weight on bike it's 30mm and me sat on its 70 an need 100 so I would of thought if the spring was stiffer it would be closer to 30... backwards logic.
Anyway I'm off to work now to weld some more beetle.
