  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

YZ450F Pegs on a TE 510 ?

HappyTruck

Husqvarna
B Class
I was looking on another forum and some guy was saying you could put YZ450F pegs on a Husqvarna with minimal modifications with a grinder. Is there any truth to this?

I'm asking because I was going to buy some and hack them up a little to make some drop foot pegs for my 09 TE 510. I would like to drop an inch to an inch and a half.

If anyone on here has a set of stock pegs that will fit an 09 TE 510 that they would like to sell... that would work too :)

thanks

I have not tried the Yamaha pegs but I think if you want to lower the pegs this might not be a option. In order to drop the peg down you will have to Hack the spacer and move it to the upper part of the foot peg on that side. When you do this it makes the pin weak. At least that is the way it was with the Honda Pegs.

I have had Moose: Yamaha /Gas Gas pegs on multiple Huskys. I usually go for the Gas Gas application, just in case some Yamaha application has changed. You need to grind or file about 3mm from the barrel the pin slides through.

Yes it's true, i put on my TE 310 & TE 510 the Pegs from the Yamaha.

And it works great...

You can actually get lower yz pegs straght from IMS (Pro Series). The spacer is already on the top. I run them on my WR250 and TE450. All you need to do is grind a couple mm off the top so they fit in the Huskys and then swap the springs from left to right. Very easy.
