  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

took my 96 wxc 250 clutch apart to look at everything and make an adjustment for dragging. Something has come apart in there at some point because the clutch basket is really chewed up on the backside around the small gear. Now I know where the metal shaving came from on the magnetic drain plug. I believe this has been repaired as everything else in there looks good.Lots of wear on the basket where the plates contact it. Would like to replace it if I could find a used one. Ebay shows some for the 360 but not sure if they will interchange. Anyone have one they would sell or know where I could pick one up. Thanks

that small gear is what is driven by the kick idler gear. is that gear ok? what about the post it sits on? the bolts comes loose that holds that post to the cases. inspect the case carefully there. common issue. that bolt should have loctite and a new bearing installed on the kick idler bearing..the post likes to shift, cracking the case. when this all happens it bitches up the back of the clutch basket and the small gear

Ya you had told me about the kick gear in another post. That all looked good but from your description i'm betting thats what happened. I will double check it all. Do you know what parts will interchange?

im not sure exactly what years will swap, but almost any year 360 will fit. not sure when they updated (if ever) the 250 to where it wouldnt fit yours. tooth count would also be a factor.

yes and the big gear on the clutch basket from the 360 has more teeth. Still looking for a 250 basket, HELP****************************************!

the fische on the Halls site does not actually show a part # for the clutch basket (unless I missed something) but shows the primary gear set being different. The 250 has a 69 tooth gear where the 360 shows a 60 tooth. The baskets may be the same but the big gear tooth count on the basket is different, so I'm assuming they won't interchange. The center gear on the back of the basket shows to be 17 teeth on both models. So is it possible to replace the big gear, if so how do you remove and replace the rivets. I would still need a gear as mine has teeth chipped. Starting to miss my KDX.
