• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WVA Vintage Enduro Route Sheet Posted

The Route Sheet / Time Chart for the 7/23 Mountaineer Vintage Enduro at McKee's Sky Ranch in WVA has been posted on the AHRMA web site.

Print it...cut it...tape it...load into your R/S holder and you'll have one less thing to do when you get there!

BTW, still plenty of room for post-entries for the event.
Don't miss it!

Hold tight everyone...

There will be a revised route sheet posted on the AHRMA web site hopefully by Monday. It will have more ...shall we say..."traditional" speed averages used then the first version.
I'll post an update here when it's available.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Actual ground mileage is:
1st half: 39.2
2nd half: 24.3
Total: 63.5

If 39.2 is a stretch for your thirsty Hastyverna fuel capacity, you'll be able to get a splash from the gas truck staged at about the 4.5m mark...before it departs for the gas stop.

Did I mention that post-entries at the event will be accepted?

And that 4 time AMA National Enduro Champion Terry Cunningham will be Grand Marshall for the event???

Don't miss it!

aside from the very beginning and the power lines at end it is all 24 mph....whats more traditional than that?

3 quick questions.

is first 3 miles free? will flip cards at check face rider or be facing check boss? is last point (finish) a known control?

OK...in order...
1. The correct RS is version B which Joe has posted. I'm trying to get the AHRMA web site updated with version B.
2. On the AHRMA web site, click on Cross country under Schedules. But as of 17:38 on 7/18 it's still wrong...
3. 3 miles min between checks
4. 2 before/ 3 after rule for gas stop
5. Score cards on front fender
6. In our modern enduros we have flip cards face checkers. For this one...we'll have them at about 45 degrees so both can see...
7. Finish is an Emergency check. You will not be early.
8. Rider Info Sheet is being posted on F/B pages...but I know nothing about F/B so I don't know which ones or when...

Weather looks good!

rich.....on your above 8 things thanks.
question on #7 don't you mean known control and not E check? e check is not just minutes but also seconds right down to the :30. KC you can be 15 early with no penalty. is finish a KC or an E check?

Finish at 29.4 is an Emergency Check timed to the second.
And that's not inside info only for Husky friends...it will be on the Rider Info Board posted...no games...nothing sneaky!
At 30mph...you will have NO chance of being early...you WILL NOT burn the check.
Not even Fred or TC...

thanks....mis read it as "you cannot be early" as opposed to "no one can be on time to this one!" LOL

These guys and maybe a few others might suprise you.... :oldman:

Surprise would be an understatement!
My jaw would drop to the ground!
We had a very tough local enduro and one year trail boss said this about an impossibly fast section... "Only God could zero this section!". Multi time local champion did just that and 35 years later.... we still call him God behind his back and trail boss had to eat crow. Have fun boys!

OK...just checked the AHRMA web site and the correct version is now posted...same as the one Joe posted above.

It's called: Mountaineer Vintage Enduro B at the top...

Discard the wrong version.

Not sure...try grumpy over-worked-full-of-rage Joe Cole at 724.944.7825
Offer to buy him a beer...or a 2nd over 250 piston kit...

I'm heading to WVA now...no more web access...see you all there!

Let me be the first to say a big thank you to all the people who made this first in the USA all vintage enduro a success.Had a great time and hope to be riding this vintage enduro again next year.
