  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WTB: used crank for 08 wr 250 - where to buy?

fire1998

Husqvarna
AA Class
I am looking for a used crank that is still useable for an 08 WR 250. I think cranks from 99 and up will work.
Thanks

That Bills Motorcycles Plus in Salem Oregon. Call him direct. Great guy / dealer so no worries.

I'll second that. I bought my 300 from him last week.
Super straight shooter

He will talk your ear off given the chance. FYI....

Curious. How come you dont have your stock crank rebuilt. I get them rebuilt for $35 + parts.

I had an 87 430 that I had to split cases on it to replace 3rd gear. When I went to loosen flywheel nut, the thread end of crack snapped off ( I couldn't believe it). I think a crank half was $180+ dollars back then and then the pressing was $35. I took the crank out, put it in a drill press, shimmed in between the rod slot just in case the drill press would press the crank halves closer to rod. Drilled and tapped for a metric bolt. Then used some lock tight and never had one issue. It's a thought. I didn't have any balancing issues.

Good to hear,...hope the install goes smooth and you never have another crank issue.

That was just wrong what happened to you with that flywheel weight.

crank

Got the bill today.
$200 for crank
$466 for labor and new flywheel
$100 for shipping

Total $766 for a loose flywheel!!! :banghead::censored::censored::censored::censored:

Not a fun price, ouch!

Clearly this is a where can I buy thread so I changed the title a bit to reflect that.
