  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello, just thought I'd post for anyone having spark problems. Ive been putting the bike back together and lo and behold, no spark. checked most things and narrowed it down to the CDI, i worked out you can bypass this with two wires straight from the generator to the coil and hey presto, a spark! haven't tried starting it but at least i know its definitely the CDI. Finding the part is a different matter, i found out the CDI has the same part number as the Cagiva Mito CDI (CU2168),probably Cagiva PLanet and Raptor as well but i haven't checked, which are more numerous. Also this means the Zeeltronic programmable CDI and powervalve controller should fit! about £260 all in. may give it ago later. for now I'll get a Mito one, unless anyone has a WRE one for sale?

Up to 2005 I think. Husky is a 2001. I think the mitos were called evo 1's.but raptors ,planets etc all share the same engine as far as I know. I'll let you know if it works when it turns up!

Yes the cdi for cagiva mito and planet is the same unit and coding accept for mito sp525. Mito cdi is cheap and easily available. Good upgrade to zeeltronic cdi and pv programmable controller. You need to adjust the pv opening rpm if you decide to get the zeeltronic unit as standard for mito pv opening is set at around rpm7800
