  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR300 stator recall

Tommy V

Husqvarna
AA Class
I just spoke to the dealer about picking up my new WR300 and he told me I have to wait until they take care of a recall on the stator. Has anyone heard about this yet? I know there are some issues with the Ducati ignition so I wonder what exactly it is that they will be replacing. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that they are taking care of it but there's a pretty good chance I will not be riding it this weekend. Is the Husky parts warehouse still in PA? Dealer is in CT so hoping shipping won't take long

would not surprise me.my 2012 had stator replaced under warranty and i have red alot of posts on cafe husky that have had probs with starting/engine failures that were or could of been stator/ignition faults.had to replace the reg/rectifier on mine to get it starting properly with no repeated foot bruising kick back.

I'm hoping that since its a recall, they realize there is an issue and they have a better stator/ignition to install. I already have enough problems with my right knee. Lol!
I will post the results of the recall, I would assume it would affect most newer bikes.

yeh it would affect any of the wr's with a ducati ignition.no recall on the stator in australia,i just checked the web site.my 13 cr 125,wr 125,250,300 have a recall on the throttle and cable, also my13 te 250,310 have a recall on the plastic fuel elbow and needs a fuel tank lift kit to prevent fuel leak/fire.hope husky fix the ignition probs for you

Anyone have any actual information about this? I didn't find anything with a google search, and haven't heard anything else about this.

Ok, quick update. I picked up my '14 WR300 a few days ago. When I asked about the recall, the girl handling the paperwork couldn't find any info on it. She took me back to speak to the tech and he told me that it wasn't a recall but they just replaced the stator under warranty. The sales manager I was dealing with wasn't in that day so I don't know if he was mistaken or just bullshitting me so I wouldn't back out of the deal.
Either way I'm ok with it but I wish they would have just told me up front. For $5K I was buying it anyway
I did install lights but have yet to wire them up but hopefully no more electrical problems.
Runs great and starting is fine with JD kit
The only other issue is that the rear shock started leaking oil but that's an issue for another thread

Pretty much. They didn't say if it was any different than the one they took out. Between this and the leaking rear shock it has me a bit worried but I do really love the bike so far. I'm going to take it to a different dealer for the shock problem. I will ask them about stator issues they have seen.
