  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc wr300 squish?

Glenn haynes

Husqvarna
AA Class
Anyone know what the squish is supposed to be set at? what is the stock base gasket size? I have a .08 on it now.

wr250 .90 cr.80 i run the .03 basehusky part. i know you have a 300 i have heard they are the same. cr stock .05. wr .08.i run squish on huskies .50 to .70 so you dont have to increase volume in the dome. i have tested at the 1mm mark and didnt like it.

Have you ever compared a squish setting to the Husky manual dial indicator setting? Thread hi-jack - - - How about a WR360 squish setting?

Please excuse for picking up this thread ...

So the WR300 2010 is using a 0,8mm base gasket stock ? I'm planning to do a top end in the near future and am buying the parts, not sure what base gasket size to get... If she comes with a 0,8mm, is it a good or a bad idea to lower to a 0,5mm to gain a little bit compression / low end ?

Regards.

From the WR300 2010 manual: (2011 should be same)

Reassembling the cylinder
The arrow printed on the piston top must be turned towards the exhaust.
Take the piston to Bottom Dead Center, and fit the cylinder base gasket on the
base.
Fit the piston into the cylinder, always taking care that the piston rings are
undamaged.
Fit the nuts which fasten the cylinder by hand.
Fit the two greased OR into their housings on the cylinder.
Fit the cylinder head and the fastening screws by hand.
Tighten the nuts which fasten the cylinder to the sump by crossing the tightening
procedure.
Torque for the 360: 2.2÷5 kgm (21.6÷24.5 Nm; 16÷18 ft/lb), and the cylinder
1.8÷2.0 kgm (17.6÷19.6; 13÷14.5 ft/lb).

Can someone please give some inputs about this ?

Looking from the outside of the cylinder and with the help of a feeler gauge and a caliper it seems that I have a 0,5mm gasket right now...

Much appreciated ;)
