  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Check out this Ti subframe I got for the WR. I think it's so sexy.

The welds look like art. Very nice.

Believe it or not, Fast By Ferracci had this thing on ebay. It's a leftover from when they campaigned the National MX series with Steve Lamson a few years back.

I was the only bidder and got it for the starting price of $250.:D

It feels almost weightless.

Yeah, I've actually got two good rides on it and I plan to race it tomorrow. Hopefully I can get back up to race pace in sort order and at least trophy with this WR. I'm feeling pretty good on it, but things have a way of changing in race mode.

The powder coat is holding up really well. There have been boot marks, but I've able to get them off with a little contact cleaner.

I was actually looking around for parts to covert the TE from EFI to a carb, when I ran across this subframe. I took it as a omen to give up on the TE and build a trick WR. ;)

Weight difference from stock? SWEET!

Ya I'm a bit curious on the weight difference too.

Any chance you weight them before you put them on your bike?

Looks real good.

Sorry, I didn't weight the two subframes before I put them on, but there is an obvious difference just from feel. Holding the two I was like, "wow".

The carb vent can is from Pro Circuit.

bad arse,,very very nice. everyone should keep an eye on ebay, it can be a gold mine! that is one of the best ive seen,,,great price for an artisan/factory team piece.
