Hello all, I'm new to this site thus this may have already been said. I wanted to let WR 300 owners know that FMF makes a beautiful Gnarly pipe and Q Stealth silencer for this model. I installed this exact combination on my ride today and then went for a whip down the back alley at my place.
I've read many conflicting reviews about this combination on varies 300's.
My only modifications are a rekluse clutch and the PWK airstriker carb.
Review:
-the pipe does not fit with every type of skidplate, so be aware of this.
-you will have to slightly adjust your mounting hardware to match up the mounting holes; it's easy
because their designd to move.
-silencer bolts up very well to existing mounting holes.
-the pipe does hang lower than the original, so expect some dents on pipe and lower mounting
bracket.
-make sure your pipe comes with some rubber o-rings or use your existing o-rings with some high
temp sealant.
-use your existing springs, my pipe did not come with new springs.
-use high temp sealant for the joining of the silencer and pipe.
Sound:
It has a slightly tingy sound from the pipe which gives the 2 smoke a very nice typical sound. The silencer definately muffles the sound and is quieter but with a bit of a chunky sound. Overall the sound is very nice.
Ride Report:
Wowwwwwww****************************************!!!
It pulls harder everywhere, the bottom to mid definately have a bigger hit now. There is no loss up top, it still has lots of overrev.
I was skeptical about wasting money on a new exhaust, especially when I didn't need one.
This combo works better than expected.
