  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

wossner piston wristpin issues...update

oldhuskychuck

Husqvarna
A Class
while back, i changed out a piston on my 01 570 TE , had some issued finding a good forged highcomp like the one that was in it.
Dan and Motoxotics got a Wossner for me.
it installed well, ran awesome for 10 hours, then started a mid cyl knock.
well, i took it back down, and was shocked at the wrist pin, wore the the coating, and trashed itself.
Dan went the extra mile, and sent me a new one.. i think he just ate the old one, and made it right..Dans a first class guy all the way..
well,
i measured the cyl, and now do to the loose pin, its wallered out like a bell at the bottom. so it has to be replated.
send it to a local guy...Kustom Kraft...im kind of leary of using another coated wrist pin. so i call the dist, they never call me back, i call Kustom Kraft, he,s a dealer for them,he gets with Wossner, and they are no longer using that coated pin...duuuh...so...i have a nother hard chromed pin on the way..hopefully..
the one issue i have...i talked to a rep at the supplier for Wossner, he was supposed to call me back within a few days and give me a heads up..never heard back..WTF..had the guy at Kustom Kraft call them, he called me back.., and gave me the issue...
is it really that tough to call a customer back and give him a heads up??

I can kinda feel your pain friend. I ordered spokes from a local guy that I do business with. I paid for the spokes up front (big mistake). That was well over a month ago. I am fitting an excel front rim on my 2000 TE410. The bike now sits because of a bent rim. Now I am waiting (starting to get impatient) for my @#$@ spokes. I can't even get my money back since the spokes are supposedly "custom" I am not a happy camper and of course I am stuck. I will have to continue to wait. I don't know who to be angry at. The guy I do business with or the ditributor. I have the feeling I am getting jerked around by both parties. I hope your situation works out. Keep us posted.

i was told, new wrist pin is on the way...will see if its a good one this time...
still never figured out why anyone would coat a wrist pin with black oxide...
