• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WINNING WEEKEND ACROSS THE BOARD FOR HUSQVARNA
Graffunder, Thomas and Roeseler put Husqvarnas on top of the podium

June 13, 2011 – Corona, CA -
Zip-Ty Racing's Cory Graffunder headlined a winning weekend for Husqvarna racers across the nation, taking a win and moving into the points lead in the Pro2 class of the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) in Honey Lake, California. FAR Husqvarna's Jason Thomas also tasted victory in Pennsylvania, where another dominant win in the American Woods Racing Championship Series (AWRCS) keeps his championship hopes alive. On the local level, off-road legend Larry Roeseler took another win aboard his Husqvarna TXC511 in the vet ranks.

Graffunder started off his weekend in Northern California with a win in the 450A class on Saturday, and rode the mometum into Sunday's event, where he took a convincing win in the Pro2 class. The weekend couldn't have gone better for the Canadian extreme-enduro specialist, who let his talent shine in the rocky, technical terrain.

"It definitely played into my favor," Graffunder said. "Even from last year it was way harder. With all the rain and snow runoff, things got all eroded. The Pro sections were nasty and had lots of big rocks that came up. The creeks were still flowing so everything was still wet and slippery - it's really similar to what I grew up riding."

Graffunder was also able to capitalize on the misfortune of his main competition – Justin Seeds – who finished a dismal seventh place on the day. "The great part was we came in about 14 points down and left with a two-point lead," commented team manager Ty Davis.

"I'm happy that my hard work has paid off and now I just have to finish out the year with some consistency," Graffunder said of earning the points lead.

Cory Graffunder vaulted himself into the Pro2 points lead with a dominant win at Honey Lake WORCS.

In the premier WORCS class, Pro1 riders Bobby Bonds and Jamie Lanza took on the challenging Honey Lake course on their Zip-Ty Husqvarnas. A cracked radiator put a premature end to Lanza's race effort on Sunday, but Bonds was able to mount a respectable charge, and worked his way up to a respectable fifth-place finish.

On the way back down from Honey Lake in Northern California, the Zip-Ty Husqvarna team dropped off the semi at Mammoth Mountain – which will be the next stop for the team. "We're going to spend the rest of this week getting prepared," Davis said. "We'll see what Mammoth will bring us next week!"

Zip-Ty racers head up the mountain on June 16, and will be representing Husqvarna at the Mammoth Motocross classic through the 26th of June.

Jason Thomas

Back east, Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna's Jason Thomas was busy putting it to the rest of the field at round four of the American Woods Racing Championship Series. Thomas started his weekend with a cameo appearance at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, where he spent some time on the AMA National Motocross track in the open practice sessions on his TXC250. From there, Thomas headed over to Parker, Pennsylvania for the AWRCS race – a two and a half hour hare scrambles which he dominated.

"I got a third-place start and then passed the guys in front of me in the grass track in the first two miles and just pulled away from there," Thomas said.

Thomas is still dealing with a dislocated collarbone, which he suffered at round three of the AWRCS only four weeks earlier. "It's still a little painful, but nothing like it was," Thomas commented. "I have a new trainer, Joe Younkins, and we're working really hard to get me back in shape. We have two weeks until the Snowshoe GNCC and I'll definitely be 100% healthy for that."

The newest Husqvarna racer – off-road legend Larry Roeseler – lined up at the District 38 Live Oaks Grand Prix near El Centro, California on his TXC511 and scored a dominant win in the 50+ class. Although it was only the second race on his 511, the first was the Mexican 1000 just a few weeks ago.
"I just prepped it, changed the oil and put some fresh tires on it and went to this GP," Roeseler said. "So far this bike's been awesome! In the pits, the biggest interest was in the bike itself. I have a lot of people coming up to me asking about the bike. People are just amazed by the changes and the features and the innovative design of the model. It was definitely the buzz of the pits."

On the International stage, Husqvarna riders dominated the World Enduro Championship once again, taking victories at the GP of Turkey. Juha Salminen and Matti Seistola each took wins in the E1 class while Antoine Meo maintained his lead in the E2 division with podium finishes on both days of the Grand Prix of Turkey.

"We really have a lot going for us right now, especially with Larry Roeseler now representing the Husqvarna brand," commented Husqvarna's National Marketing Manager Corey Eastman. "Wins on the national level, the world level and the local level present a great showcase for Husky motorcycles!"

Next WORCS Race: August 20 – 21, 2011 – Washougal, WA

Maybe Husky will see that catering to the racers in So. Calif will pay big dividends. Timely deliver of race bikes and support for desert racing and Baja, not to mention parts delivery. Racers need parts today
