• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Who's the biggest Husky rider here?

GreatBritishRob

Husqvarna
B Class
Im 6 foot 6, 19 stone and stocky with a pudgy gut due to Chrons disease.
My TE450 has the suspension set up for me (Chris Hockey/Dr Shox, write up in 173 of TBM) and the only other thing ive changed is i have Renthal Enduro High bars. Bike is perfect for me.
So, just be interesting to see who is what where and when for maybe taller people new to or just looking for an alternative due to their size.
I can safely say the Husky is built for us proper sized people, the smurfs can stick to the Jap stuff:D:thumbsup:

I wish I was 'proper sized', but alas, I'm not. Sadly I am getting bigger in the bad ways. I did add weight to the bike to see how the bike handled it (as an experiment) and it did ride much better, that was before the suspension was re-worked.

It may be possible someone else may post their opinion :)

14.5 Stones and growing.:D

Ah! Glad someone knows Stones. i did wonder if i may have confused people with that.
Anyway, no point in a six pack when you can have the whole barrel:thumbsup:

I must confess I did have to look it up. I couldn't remember exactly what the conversion was.:busted:

Nice one, not sure myself to be honest. 14 pounds to a stone i think?
I did wonder if in BC you used British (for want of a better word) measurements etc.
Hoping to get over that way maybe next year now.

No all of Canada has gone metric. Way easier.

We just get screwed up when we try and convert back and forth.:D

I'm thinking your 6'6" may take it. And I agree, it's nice to have a proper sized bike. Many of us who race GNCC have seen Rik Smits at the races. He played basketball in the NBA for 10+ years and is 7'1". I'm pretty sure he was on a KTM when I saw him and he made it look very small.

10 stone and 5'1" here.

My slightly lowered SM610 feelts like a tiny streetbike to me, but it does feel rather large when I ride it on trails.

The Husky 2-stroke I rode yesterday felt absolutely perfect, though, even though my feet were about 6" off the ground on both sides :D

The only thing "big" about the Huskys seems to be the seat height.

15.5 stones and 6'2
or 188cm and 98.6 kg's

Are stones used for any other weight measurements in the UK other than weighing people? Do you go out and buy a 3 stone (50 lbs) bag of cement or that our Husky's weigh 17 1/2 stone? Seems odd

Yes. Now this might be instructional or maybe not

Another example is the definition of the "stone" in the 1772 edition of Encyclopaedia Britannica which reads, "STONE also denotes a certain quantity or weight of some commodities. A stone of beef, in London, is the quantity of eight pounds; in Hertfordshire, twelve pounds; in Scotland sixteen pounds".[4]

But now you have another answer to "where's the beef?"

6'4'' and 15 stones. I have the stock bars but I did add a BRP 1'' riser.

You got me on height and weight, but I wear a 16 shoe, can you beat that?:D

6 feet, 246Lbs (112 Kgs or 17 and a half stone) and size 13 shoe. I have heavier springs on mt TE 450.
