  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Who does TXC449/511 suspension revalves?

fire1998

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just picked up an 11 TXC449. First thing I usually do with a new bike is get the suspension valved for my weight and ability. Who does good work on the rear cts suspension? Will I need springs at 200lbs?
Thanks

Depending on how you ride the springs are probably OK. The Husqvarna west coast guys have offered some shim and shock spacer specs that seem to help (mimics the 2012 setup, plus more).

We are doing some preliminary work with a guy in Hood River, Oregon... Tom Watson http://www.watsonperformance.com/ with a TXC511 and a 180lb expert class offroad rider

Tell him Lonny sent you.

Thanks guys! Anyone try Ziptyracing? They raced these bikes for awhile and should know a good setup.

Just got mine back from Precision Concepts here in So Cal. 4 days on it this past weekend. So far, I couldn't be happier.

Talked with zipty yesterday. Suspension is on its way back. He used a 6.0 spring in back and stock fork springs. Forks were valved to hold it up in stroke. He shortened shock and revalved it. Look forward to racing it this weekend!

Well......raced yesterday with my Zipty revalved suspension. They worked great. Huge difference between stock and revalved. Stock forks felt stiff and harsh. The best way to describe forks is I didn't notice them while racing. Stock forks would rattle your teeth!! They absorbed all the braking bumps and the rough track. They were working great!! Rear end was just as good. It was also stiff and would hit my ass thru whoops and bumps stock. Bike does not have the ass end high problem anymore. Bike never kicked once and I never felt it bottom out. Good stuff! At 200lbs Ty used 6.0 rear spring in back and stock fork springs. He also shortened shock to 2012 specs. Give em a try!!!
