  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Who are using to insure your Husky?

fire1998

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just bought a TXC 250 and need to insure it for the bank. I've tried 2 insurance companies and they don't insure Huskys. How much are you paying also?
Thanks

I'm 35yo and pay about $225 a year for full coverage for my 08 610 thorugh Geico. I believe they insure anything. I think progressive does as well.

You must have gotten a good financing rate. I have never been asked to insure a dirt bike by any of the financial institutes that have financed them. When I bought my TE because it was plated for street, I just got liability on it. My agent asked if the bank needed proof of full coverage, and I said they didn't require proof of anything.:excuseme:

State Farm, I got the best quote from them, but I've also been with them forever & have everything else insured with them also.

I'm at $83/year full coverage on my 09 TE310 through Progressive. The difference can be in finding an independant agent to go through like I was able to. Online quotes are good, but can be even better with said agent. Good luck, and congrtulations!

21st Century, my car insurer forwarded me to Foremost. Pretty sure they're a subsidiary. Looks like $158 for the year.

Progressive Insurance Company.
I have four bike insured. 2 plated and 2 two non-plated.
Fire, theft, comprehensive, medical on plated and theft / fire on non-plated bikes.

When I called up my agent to put my other bikes on the policy, I was happy to hear that all four bikes were insure for the same price of $150 per year.

This in CA.

BTW.. that cost through Geico includes the replacement cost of farkles.. :D

American Family Insurance. Right about $200 a year, and that was for my 2009 TC 450.

I have mine through Allstate. Its something like $60-80 for just basic liability (which is all I need to run enduros) on my 2009 TXC 250.

Geico, Full coverage on 09 SMR510, not sure on cost because Multi-Bike discount kicked in and my insurance is almost the same price it used to be. So I win either way!

2010 TXC 250F Husky $300,000- $100,000 Full coverage State Farm $140.00 a year. That's what they gouge me a year.

'09 smr510 full coverage thru geico @ around 440 per year
i'm 50 with no recent tickets, and have all my cars thru them, sounds like i'm getting hosed

+1 on the Foremost, best rate I could find on the SM 610, full coverage. My Nationwide agent hooked me up.

Tried State Farm but they wouldn't consider a motorcycle as a multi-vehicle, although at the time I had 4 street plated m/c's that I wanted to insure.
