  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Which Iridium plug for 2010 TE310?

AA Class
Looking to replace stock spark plug CR8EB with Iridium. Is it CR8EIX or CR8EIB-10? Then re-gap to 0.027"
Will I need NGK racing cable and cap?

I believe the "b" in the stock CR8EB designates the cap on the spark lead/connection. Ie. The CR8E is the same plug but has a threaded cap instead of the pop on connector cap. Not sure what the X is but I assume the B would suggest it has the same cap as the stocker.

with the CR8EIX you have to use a "removable terminal nut" to use the stock wire and cap. Or you could get a new Cap for the CR8ix which would be for a "terminal stud"

I have been running the CR8EIB-10 in my 09TE450 since 2010. (stock size is also CR8Eb) -it uses the permanent terminal nut just like the CR8EB. BUT the gap is a little more.

Found the CR8EIX plug no problem at the local bike store. The terminal nut was another problem. Not at dealer or NAPA or PepBoys. But the guy at PepBoys pulled one off another plug for me. Cool! Will try it tonight. Got a Shorai battery too. Maybe my bike will start better.

The CR8EIX has a treaded top. It needs a terminal nut to use the stock wire. I believe the racing cable and cap come as a unit and matches the threaded top.

Got the new plug and battery installed. I think starts better. Will see more this weekend with long ride.
