  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Where to buy WR300 race head

I am looking for the factory high compression 'race' head for my 2009 WR300. Part number 8000H0944. Does anyone know who has this in stock or who can get it? Thanks. -Todd

No, I ran premium without any issues. I wish I didn't sell mine. I sold mine after destroying my shoulder and swore I'd never get back on the bike. Over 2 years later and I want to get back on it. I'll be sending my stock head to RB. I really liked the improvement the race head made.

Read it really improved the bike, but not a huge amount of detail on what was/is improved.

What does it do to the 300's power and delivery?

What about porting work? Anybody had porting done on their 300 too?

I tried Bill's, Halls, and AMOC with NO luck. When I Google search, there are some Russian (I think) dealers that seem to have it in stock. This place here seems to have it: https://www.neubert-racing.com/search/result?q=8000H0944# but I cannot get it to translate, and when I cut and paste their e-mail contact is says that it is an 'improper address' (it looks normal to me)?!

When I got my 300, I was expecting more. I fiddled with the stock carb and then bought a Lectron. The Lectron was a big improvement in my opinion, but it still didn't have a crisp snap to it. The race head made it feel more crisp and responsive. The race head should have been the stock head the 300's came with.

I just had Millennium Technologies replated and port my cylinder and shave the oem head. I was running the factory hi comp head before said work with a gnarly pipe, TC2 and PWK. The high comp head definitely added some low to mid grunt. 198 psi with the hi comp head (premium only) and 175 psi with the newly shaved oem head. I was hoping for more from the head work. 0.5 mm base gasket before and after. Did a 7 hr 90 mile enduro on Sunday which was the real first test with the new engine mods. I was flabbergasted at how much I could tractor up some pretty intimidating hills in 3rd. The porting is noticeable from mid to top even though Millennium supposedly did a port job to enhance the entire power band. Some think top end is dulled by the gnarly. Maybe. But matched with the porting my 300 pulls to the moon especially in 4th and 5th. Had to be careful in transfer sections on gravel roads when it opened up as things happened quickly. I'd like a little more low end so I'll likely put the factory hi comp head back on for a comparison.

I was also trying to get the Race Head last year but it was unavailable everywhere (discontinued part).

I finally decided to re-cut the OEM head, the chamber and squish area was redesigned and It was an improvement for sure, more low end and better throttle response.

Well crap! Same when I called.

You'd think someone somewhere has a couple boxes full of these heads.

I have one on the shelf never did put it on. I guess I'm kind of glad I bought one when I did if you can't get them anymore.

There is a bloke over here in Melbourne that can do a reprofiling machine job of the stock 300 head to correct the squish! He basically makes your existing head into the "race" head.

Yeah I'd be interested. I had a race head but never put it on n sold it coupla years ago. Figured I'd get the stock head done if I wanted more grunt but stock is pretty good. Still next top end would be very easy to post over to dave to tweak it a little!:)
