  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

where to buy gear lever tip ? or options ?

Husqvarna
AA Class
i need to tip my toe in to catch the lever and would prefer it to stick out another 20mm over stock as it barely catches my boot as it is . i dont want the arm longer but i do want the longer end/tip part...thanks for any help on this !..its so annoying having to break concentration to change gear etc...

oh, 2005 te510 !

nah, it goes further forward for boot room not further out from the bike which i am after.. i am a size 9 so dont need big space, just need more contact wiht the end piece across my toes.. i would bend the lever out but i suspect it would break ? its forged alloy i think..

Yeah, I wouldn't bend it either. Just extend the stocker by threading hole in the end of it so you can stick a bolt in it. If you want a rubber tip too,... grind down the bolt and add rubber.

I know, you wanna buy something cool off the shelf.

Dave

Ever try to run a bolt through it from inside to out with a spacer at the end and nylon nut turned backwards? Or, you could tap threads in the end of it and add the space needed with a bolt and spacer.

Just thinking out loud.

Wow Dave, I was typing the same thing as you were posting it. LOL

You could go on www. hdmoto.com and for the Hammerhead shifter parts you'll find more outward length and alll the possible offsets /non offsets and knurled and rubber tips then you could think off.. Plus they are Husky red

Chow, Carl

Hammerheads a good idea. Just put one on my TE 310. They don't make one specifically for the Husky's, but the Honda CRF tips work with a little modification, i.e. drilling out the hole to accept the larger pin size. Nice products.

i like the cheap mod, i aint a riding bike shop window lol... i like that idea... will have a go tomorrow ! thanks !!!
