• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where I am on my restorations

Bigbill

Husqvarna
Pro Class
The two tone gripper seat cover arrived from HM.
The 83 cr250 connecting rod kit was ordered from HVA.
The order for some new rubber parts has arrived.
The new decals have arrived too.
I have the chain tentioner and parts.
New wheel bearings
Handle bars.
Grips
Levers
Front forks with disc brakes
Gas tanks.
Seats
Plastics.
New fasteners(boltdepot.com)
Pipes and mufflers.
Rear shocks.
Sprockets.

I need to order a new connecting rod kit for the cr500 next.
Time to assemble engines. Bearing, seals, pistons. Inbetween painting frames.

Seems to be moving right along parts wise. Need to paint frames and swing arms next if it ever stops raining and warms up.

Just to give you guys a heads up I'm not sleeping on the job.

Remember my restorations aren't as good as you guys do but I get these old dogs running again. Just dress them up with some new paint and get them muddy.

no problem with that at all...i like to ride them as well. just want to see all the progress...perhaps the kid or grandkid can upload some pics for you

I'll dig out some of my past huskys. Post them. I think I have late 70's & early milk trucks. I might have my single shock conversion too.

past bikes would be cool to see of course..but seeing the bikes and all the stuff you are ordering would be ideal too

Here's my 78 250or that hit a bridge. I put a new frame and swing arm and freshened the engine. My first 250/or. The story with this one is my other buddy had a party. A guy was drunk and a girl wanted to go for a ride, she kept on saying faster. He drove off a low bridge on a dirt road in vt. She broke her leg. The bike was pretzeled up. Luckily I had the parts it needed.

Here's my 81 cr250 the flyer I talk about. I bought here from the junkyard. Washed it, built the engine, fixed everything it needed. How could someone scrap this bike.

Here's my 82 wr frame with a single shock conversion swingarm. It works on a twin shock frame the only thing to modify is the dog bone on the bottom needs to be cut in half with a threaded rod with jam nuts so it can be adjusted for full swing arm travel. It worked fine. I guess the single shock frames were over kill structure wise.

I sold my bikes do to doctors orders since I couldn't ride anymore. I didn't want the temptation around. I'm sorry my restorations aren't good light yours but they ran. I'm missing more pics. I hope your satisfied I'm telling the truth. I'll get some parts pics next. Expect some husky porn, I'm a husky parts hoarder.

I had a co worker who first helped me changing tires and giving me tips as I went along. I found the Yamaha 2t 4cylinder 500 and bought it. I found out the guy who helped me always wanted one. The bike was worth $8,500 but I paid $3,500 and I sold it to him for $3,500 just to say thanks for helping me. There's a story behind these motorcycles. They weren't allowed in the USA as new bikes so they were imported here as used bikes. King Kenny rode these to victory many times. The bike sounds unique.
The PO also had a Kawasaki 750 2t triple. I should of grabbed that one.
