    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Got a 2009 WR125 with Walt's 165 kit including Lectron carb. My throttle cable has collapsed possibly inside the carb. So it will be replaced.What Motion Pro product should I order?
 
I would just call Lectron and have them ship you the correct cable. They are easy to deal with and the price will be competitive to what you can get it anywhere else. They have Motion pro make up the cables with all the correct ends and the right length to make it easy.
 
Lectron emailed to say they sell Domino cables. Not sure if that is what Kelly and walt sold me in the first place. There is a pic of the throttle cable they sold me and that I want to avoid here. It lasted about 6 months, maybe 15 days riding.

I needed a replacement and that is what I was sent. WR165/stock throttle assembly.


Motion pro makes their own assembly that looks pretty much the same as the Domino one. The setup I had on my 610 used the MP throttle and it had a different cable part number (labelled as lectron to MP vertex? I think)
 
That is a problem. The cable comes from Lectron but it should have been a motion pro. If you can send me the defective cable, I will get you a new one. Unless there was some kind of weird issue you should be getting years of use out of that cable. The motion pro on my '12 was installed when the bike was new with the 165 and Lectron. It still works like new with a lot of abuse in those years.

That's strange :confused: I've bought 2 Lectrons, 1 from Kelly last March and 1 from Lectron this past March, and both came with Motion Pro cables. I agree, you either got an odd or defective cable or you screwed up. No big deal, just replace it and keep going. :cheers:

Walt, can you tell from my picture what the cable was I was sent originally?

I don't recognize the cable by the package. All the motion pro cables that I have gotten from Lectron have had the usual motion pro blue packaging. Just send me yours and I will get a new one for you. It is really hard to tell what the cable is through the packaging. I will have Dave at Lectron ship one out to me next week.

Thanks Walt but I have no time to waste and hopefully bought the correct one form a UK retailer recommended by Lectron.

Has Kelly stopped trading? His website says as much
