  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc What can you tell me about the 2002 CR125?

I've been wanting to try a 125 and I have seen an 02 CR125 for sale. Is this a good year bike? Any problems to look out for? It looks like it is in average condition and will need tires, chain and sprockets soon, possibly a new pipe and spark arrestor. And I am assuming it will need a fresh top end since it is a 125. What would a fair price range be for this bike? I haven't seen it yet - only photos.

I don't ride MX so it will be used on trails. Will it make a decent trail bike?

I think its a great bike.I have a 2001. That I mostly use for woods riding and its great. I really want to buy a new Husky but my 01 is still pretty fresh and i have 7 other bikes already. Problems are ...same as any 125 a little soft on the suspension for my 180lbs. Screaming revs.decent low end,Handles great and very light.
The 2002 had the red 100 year anniversary plates on it. If it still does thats a bonus.

Just found out the owner is out of town for 10 days and there is another person already interested so getting it may be a long shot. We'll see what happens. I don't see many older used ones for sale in my neck of the woods.

I sold my 02 CR 125 at the end of 03 for $2500 bucks. I can't imagine it's worth more than half that now. I'd guess around $1,000. They really didn't change much from 00-08 besides color. I have an 08 and I think my 02 might of been faster on top.

List of things that broke in 02 on me: clutch basket, upper motor mounts, footpegs were weak and deformed easy (I can't remember but we replaced them with IMS pegs...one of the KX models were the same as Husky). Blown rear shock. Really that was it besides normal wear or crash items. I raced it almost every weekend, sometimes twice a week that year...it was a fun bike. Needs a 51 or 52T rear sprocket.
