• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What are the best aftermarket clutch/brake levers

sam v

Husqvarna
C Class
What is the best levers for the husky? Broke my front brake lever. Was looking at the asv c6 lever or the sunline. Anyone got any suggestions or experience with either one.Open to other brands .The c6 looks really nice in design not sure about the ergonomics .I know the sunline pivots in all directions but does not look as user friendly as the asvc6.Would i be better off going with the stock replacement and some hand guards. The asv is only a few bucks more. Not really concerned about pricing.Just looking for the most reliable fix.How about the colors.Do they hold up ok. Purchased several hundred dollars in red alloy parts for my drz and they all faded really fast.Zeta was kind enough to send replacement pieces, but the dipstick only lasted a couple week before it was completely faded. The bike is always covered or garaged when not in use and don't ride that much. Some faded more than others but amazed at the short time I got with the color on the zeta parts.Total waist of money. But I learned that sometimes color may not be the way to go when it comes to reliability of color. Ever since the zeta incident I am hesitant of color and stick with the blacks or the natural colors.Has anyone had any problems with color fading on the asv levers or sunline.what is your input or opinion .Any feed back would greatly be appreciated.Glad i had my passenger pegs on. Cashed out on the bike.Need to buy some sliders but i guess the passenger will have to do for now.The pegs seem to hold ok the only thing i dont like is that if the bike falls the right side the peg will dig into the rear brake lever. It also bottoms out on the inside of the peg and will damage the powder coat.Does anyone know if there are more crash pads other than hand guards ,axle sliders and passenger pegs.

I just purchased some Zetas in the gray finish for my husband's TXC 450 for Christmas. I'm not sure if they'll get mounted or if they'll get returned for C6s - he wanted anodized red. :/

We had the ASV F3s on our 510 SMR and they were quite nice. I liked the width of the surface that your hand contacts. As a testament to the ASVs, I took a low side goofing around in a parking lot and bent a lever nearly in a U shape. It bent back nicely using their instructions with merely some stress marks in the finish. Those C6s have a 6 year warranty...pretty nice. If I remember right, they'll even warranty them if you break them while trying to bend them back.

As for the Zetas, I picked those because they were available in 3 finger length (4 finger available too)...the husband wanted shorties.

I also thought about the Midwest Mountain Engineering levers, but they are not the folding kind and are 2 finger pull. http://www.midwestme.com/

As for finish, almost all of the anodized stuff I have bought has faded. The reds are so beautiful and tempting in the product photos, but they always seem to end up light red...and no anodized red is the same. My husband's TXC 450 has a spectrum of anodized red parts...he doesn't seem to care. I'm of your opinion and stick to things that don't fade as obviously.

As for crash protection...I had front and rear axle sliders on the 510 SMR (can be made on the cheap with skateboard wheels). Also had full wrap hand guards with bar end sliders mounted on the end of the handguard. I have Cycra Pro-Bends on my current bike...they would have been awesome on the supermoto because they have replaceable bumpers. They are a PITA to mount, but once on they can take some abuse (I've tested them!!). You can also buy sliders for the underside of the footpegs. If you haven't been there yet, be sure to check out supermotojunkie's classifieds section if you're on a budget. I picked up the front/rear/bar end sliders as a used but not crashed set.

I had some grey zeta hand guards and they held up fine. Didn't really fade at all.I think you have helped me make up my mind.I am gonna go with the black or grey just to be safe and happy with my purchase. Then i don't have to worry did i waist my money is the color gonna last more than a few months. Thanks for the input phoenix.
