• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well, I did it.

Yeah man, thanks for all the knowledge you shared with us, and for being a guinea pig of some great fixes. Enjoy your next wheels!

Thanks for all the useful and entertaining posts over the years! When you get the new bike please do post it up on here. I would love to see what you dive into next.

We will miss you Charlie. What are you going to ride?? I really like the look of the Tiger 800 after owning a 1050 I know it would be sweet!!
Or do you want to try a low mileage Strada?? You aren't that far from me....

Oh man...sorry to see you go, the place will be the poorer for it!!
A HUGE THANKS for all your knowledge, patience, help, endless time spent and advice...and the occasional stick+carrot
to keep the bunch in line ;-)
Hopefully the paths will cross elsewhere, sometime...til then: Happy travels!

Thanks for all the support, especially with the LC2.
All the best for the future and your health.

Thanks everyone. I bought a leftover 2015 Versys 650 ABS/LT. So far it is total thumbs up for me. Farkling my way through my credit cards already.

Those are fantastic bikes (I got to romp through the Rockies on a borrowed 2010 Versys for a few days once), and I understand the updated 2015 is even better. The Versys community just picked up a real asset. Best wishes!
