• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well, I did it.

I sold the TR. I am getting older and dirt is harder on this old beat up body. I have health issues and have decided to try and prolong my riding career by getting a street oriented bike so I can tour the US. Y'all have been great and I will be checking in to see if the recall actually gets done. I have enjoyed the research, ideas, trial and errors I shared with you all.

Good luck Charlie, whatever you choose to ride, lets hope you continue to enjoy it for a lot longer.
One of my friends did the same and went for the Kawasaki Vulcan 650 for a comfortable, easygoing, but still interesting ride.

Many thanks to you for the positive input you have given this forum, and some of the arguments too ! It has all been very much appreciated.

Ride safe.

Bummer to see you go Charlie. You've done heaps here & more over at AR.
Good luck with your new adventures & I hope you find something that's kind to your beat up body!

Sad to see you go, planning to follow your LC2 procedure on my own bike soon.

Are you still happy with it, hope you will drop by on the forum sometimes.
Can I change the 1*7k resistors to a 143 ohm 4watt or any other combination giving 143 Ohm
Does it need to be film resistors or can wire work too?

Sorry to see you go Charlie - none have contributed more to the Husky TR community. Good luck with your next bike!

TR650 Strada with a Touratech seat. Thats more street oriented.

Take care Charlie. Huge thanks to you for all the work you did on the TR650 resource index on AdvRider.
And thanks for helping me with all my questions, many months after everyone else has completed their mods.
I still haven't done all the little fixes:doh:

Wow, I am humbled. You guys are great. Yeah, I will be hanging around keeping tabs on everyone and the recall.

Etotore, yes as long as the total resistance is achieved you will be fine. Don't shortcut anywhere. I am/was very happy with the LC2's input on the TR. The real hero on the LC2 is Roger04RT he is really knowledgeable and helped me immensely.

Sorry to hear this Charlie. I'll be curious to know what you end up with.

How much did you sell it for?

Somebody picked up a real nice Terra. Sorry to see you leave Charlie. Your insight and experience have been great!
