    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Good day all
I am looking for a replacement kick start lever for my bike.

WR 250

I do a lot of riding in sandy areas and crud has warn out the kick start lever to such an extend that it seized. I have repaired it a few times already but it has now become so buggered that I have to replace it.

My problem is that there is only one importer in South Africa and they don't have any stock at the moment.

Guys surely there are dealers out there who can sell me one or if you can at least give me the dealers contact details. I will make contact from here.
 
Actually you had the ad in the correct location. But you appear quite anxious, and you appear to want a source to buy the kickstarter as much as you want someone to sell you one - so I moved it to the main forum.

The idea is to have the Husqvarna Bike areas contain information that will be of interest to other people years from now, the main forum for miscellaneous discussions that would be of less interest to someone years from now (and don't fit into the other forums very well), and the classifieds be the place for specific transactions... so it appears the Main Forum would be the best place.

Good day all

I am desperately seeking a kick start lever for a WR 250 Husky 2006

I am in training for some serious racing but without a kick start lever I am a dead duck before I have even entered.

First one is beyond repair and the second one came off the bike even with lock nut on.

The local dealer doesnt have stock and can not tell me when new stock will arrive.

It does indeed sound like you are desperate.

But "Hey I need a part so I'll start a thread" I really don't appreciate for a couple of reasons.
  • Only site sponsors are supposed to be advertising on Cafe Husky and that would be exactly 1 dealer - Motoxotica
  • Threads like this detract from the forum. If people wanted to see 'wanted' posts they would read the classifieds.

I've went to great lengths to move your thread into the Main forum because you are so desperate. I would appreciate it if you did not start another thread about this.
