  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

want to buy my first enduro bike...

Yeah got the R. It's got 1100 miles on it and I paid £2900 which seems to be the right money for one. Needs a new tail light as the lens has come off somehow but otherwise it's good to go.

Will start with the green lanes but def want to do enduros. They look ace. Need to learn to ride first really though! Quite like the idea of putting her on an MX track too but all in good time

Yeah if i had a track with no one on im sure i would be alright by the end of day two.

Nice ride, i donated my spare rear lens a few years back to walsh on here i think you you missed the generosity boat an afraid.
Just enter your first enduro and go from there really its a bloody good day out and doesnt matter if your slow the more pro riders need practice overtaking!

ah no worries dude, thanks. have order a new assembly for £45 so not too bad.

haha, yeah i apply that same philosophy on the track!! there's some enduro events down in kent so that'll be nice and local for me. looking forward to it! and to think, i came so close to buying a yamaha or ktm! phew

That was a narrow escape! I have been there too, when I was looking for a supermoto , I almost signed for a used SMCR 690 tagged € 7500 . I thought twice, talked to connoisseurs, and figured out these things were overrated , exactly the opposite of husqvarnas. And I managed to make a 3 for 1 with the same amount of cash

had my first ride on the 310r this weekend. she's been in the shop getting a full service for the past few weeks. amongst other things i got them to put a map switch on there and i'm so glad i did. when the going is super muddy map 2 makes the bike much easier to manage and has better traction. i basically love this bike! it's the first time i've ever ridden dirt and i'm absolutely in love with it. we only spent about 3/4 hours out on the trails and i was knackered by the end of it! i have a lot to learn but also feel i made a lot of progress in that initial ride. can't wait for the weekend now and getting back out there again.

here's some pics anyway. ordered a sticker kit off of ebay and put that on the day before we went out. went surprisingly well although i did have my brother to help me. stuck them on dry using a hairdryer and a sharp scalpel to pop any air bubbles. went pretty smoothly and pretty happy with the finish...
