• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wambaw

I started to write this post, ran out of time, and then attempted to delete it but my computers skills are lacking so that is why it just says I rode.

However, while on the subject, if you have not ridden Wambaw Trail near Charleston, South Carolina you should try it. 40 miles of single track trails through the Francis Marion National Forest. The trails are incredibly sandy and plenty of whoops. They wear me out in short order. I end up mostly in Second or Third gear on my Husqvarna 350 Last weekend I rode a couple of hours both on Saturday and Sunday. I have just started riding again after a 20 year hiatus and really attempting to focus on ingraining good riding technique into my head. I am actually a good bit quicker than I expected after such a long interval so even after my long break a lot of it came back. I am hoping to try and ride at a place called Battery Park this weekend which has trails and also a couple of tracks. I prefer trail riding but want to work on my turns. Sometimes easier to do on a track when not worried about slaming into a pine tree. My end goal is to race in a Rally out west. Hope this was a little better than "I rode".

Just this photo from an earlier ride at Wambaw. As i have been riding solo it is difficult to get too many shots.
