• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looks like they tamed the ski jump and took out leaches lump which i always hated (what are you supposed to do with that?) Nice. Sux about the muffler. Husky pipes have been crap fro quite a while unfortunately.

Ok, Here is moto 5. Started decent, then settled in behind someone and got complacent. I need to work on that, i accept my place on the track, instead of fighting for the next one. Had to cut it short due to youtube limits. And ignore the funky screen at the begining, it goes away in a few seconds, not sure what causes that??

i'd say you were having a better day that the chap on the honda in the 2nd pic! man that blows on the muffler, always happens at the least oppertune time. seen that once in a road race and it got ugly. projectile it correct....

good job on representing and keep at it...

Second silencer in like 4-6 motos?? The first one flew off in a 4th gear straight, the guy behind me said it was like a tomahawk coming at him. I have a 2010 silencer now and it looks solid. 2009 silencers should be taken back by husqvarna.

curious, do they have a manufacturer stamp on them? Just wondering where they were sourced. Even knowing the source doesn't mean they were not contracted to build to OEM spec/print/drawing. Again just curious about the source.

both silencers broke at the tig welds at the base of the mounting tab, second one actually had the entire weld tear out of the silencer body (to much heat when welded). Both were pretty much identicle failures. The 2009 unit is aluminum and about 15oz lighter than the all stainless 2010 unit. I will take a look to see if the bad ones have a manufacture label on them. My expansion chamber pipe was broken as well when the last one came off, it broke soon after getting the bike where the stinger meets the chamber, i welded it. Then the welds that attatch the mounting tab near the shock broke all the way across, this may have contributed to the second silencer failure, who knows, either way the whole system is scrap, good thing i had jmeteers silencer and a brand new OEM pipe in my truck. I still need to weld up the new pipe so it doesnt fail like the last one did. My new OEM pipe isnt leaking out all the seams like the last one did though so it might be better but the welds look the same.
