• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Used Te 150 Value??

A Class
I have the opportunity to purchase a 2017 TE150. It has 71 hrs with a Keihin carb well set up.

The plastic is a little rough, but its well maintained, just used as intended. Otherwise it is stock.

Is $5k a good price?

Probably right on....and probably a top end pretty quick...plastic kit is not cheap...so..app 5500 or so with plastic and top end....8000 or so new...71 hrs...shock and fork probably need servicing if not done...shock oil change...forks seals and oil...app 300$..now 5800....any extras on bike like pipe guard and stuff??I'd pay much extra for a 17 over a 16 (125)...17 up chassis much more refined...and no 4cs.....dam dirt bikes are expensive for sure..

That sounds like a terrible deal... give me the seller’s contact info and I will reach out to try to negotiate a better deal. ;)

Not sure on your location, but here in the North East, I would say 5K was a good deal. If plastics are the same as for the 250 / 300 then aftermarket set is like $115.00 a set, plus graphics. Yes a top end is in the future, but even given that, I would say snag it.

Yeah, I hope it was obvious but I thought that was great price and would jump on it in heartbeat.... I have been looking for a '17 150 SX (or 125TC) and budgeting to install 1st-2nd and 5th/6th TE gears (as well as 18" wheel, kickstand, etc) and haven't seen one of them for $5k yet, and Mx bikes should be dirt cheap. A '17 TE150 in bad shape is worth $5k easy... in good shape its worth more!

Oh yeah, that was pretty obvious!
Kind of like meeting a woman and letting her know that you really like her sweater!

Bills Motorcycles Plus was selling a TC125 new (might still have it) for about 6k

Yeah, but since part of the plan is to split the cases to install TE gearset (3rd-4th is a combined gear and almost identical between TC and TE so not worth $ to change), a used bike makes more sense. The savings pays for the upgrades if you know what i mean.
