• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Uptite exhaust shield finds rad leak.

Heroes Ride Huskys. The others follow.
I got some new bling the other day from MotoXotica, the Uptite exhaust shield. I didn't have time to install it right away so I set it on the bike lift. I went out to wrench after work and saw light green water on the exhaust guard. After further inspection I see the left side rad has some leaking going on somewhere in the core. I do not under stand why there is leakage. The bike has never been down. I have a NOS Husky coolant Y installed and I double and triple checked hose routes and clamp placements to make sure there isn't any rubbing, kinking etc. Argh! I now need to truck the bike to my dealer and see what they say in regards to a replacement. Just bought the the bike last week of March.

Thank goodness I bought the Uptite exhaust shield and set it where I did. I don't think I would have noticed the leak until it got worse.

There's a fairly broad consensus that this place below is THE PLACE for rad repairs. Quick turnaround. Definitely get the repair over new would be my opinion. Maybe as little as $35.

I can attest to this.

I've sent 4 rads to Mylers. Some of them looked like hell and they all came back perfect. He's even reinforced weak points on my rads before shipping them back.

Quality shop

Me too, they do great work,2 day turnaround and less than $70 for both of my rads. I didn't tell them to repair the shroud tabs, but Mylars welded all of my tabs and the little shrouds lined up purrfect.:applause:

I gave the mighty TE a more in depth look toady. I removed the rad conveyor, warmed up the bike and saw no sign of leaking. So I removed the tank and saw that the left hose of the cooling Y had signs of leaking from around the clamp. Clearly my fault! :applause: I was leary of over tightening the clamps on the rad side in fear of crushing them as they are aluminum and I had read they are delicate and pricey. I gave all the clamps some extra elbow grease this time and fell comfortable all is good.

 I also put an original Husky coolant Y on Becky's TE. Now I need to check my work on her bike.
