  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi folks. I know there aren't many Trials riders here, but there will be another ahrma Trials at Unadilla's MX Rewind this year, and I need help. I'm only asking for checkers. The Trials is after the Cross Country race and there is just enough time to get to the Trials after the CC race. As a matter of fact I know several people who do both the CC and the Trials. Checking is easy to do and it's fun to watch Vintage Trials bikes weaving their way through boulders, logs, rock gardens and stream beds. Doesn't take much out of your day, and I would really appreciate the help. Last year they didn't have enough checkers and we had to keep moving checkers from section to section. I have been asked to set it up this year and don't want that to happen again.
Feel free to PM me if you can help.
Thanks

Hi Gord, We have emailed each other about this last year. I will be there, providing no unforeseen emergency's pop up and will be happy to help. I may have one or two friends coming along. I'm sure they would help also.

Thanks Dale. I need as many as I can get. And there will be a checkers meeting to explain how to score riders before the Trials. I will also try to pair up checkers with other experienced checkers.

The riders like guys like you! As long as everyone gets a five, they're good!
I think the Trials starts around 1:00. I haven't seen a schedule yet. But we can't start until the CC is over, as I'm using some of their loop for the Trials.
Thanks, I need the help. I knew I could count on Husky riders.
