• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Pro Class
Sept. 16, 2012 at the famed Unadilla NY location…

Been there, done that…and would not miss the chance to go back!

Weather was cooperating, going to be a great weekend.

Andy had dealt with a pretty good head cold/sinus infection thing that knocked him down a couple of pegs energy/endurance wise, so this was kind-of another come back race.

The number of people participating in this race over the years has increased every year. The signup for the 10am race took hours longer than normal just because of the shear number of entries. Both the morning and afternoon races were on a two hour delay…

His starting row rotation put him 3rd line from the end, but this track affords lots of passing opportunities…should not present a problem. But he will get passed by the leaders who have a good 13 minutes head start from the front row.

We were having a starter issue, but have it resolved…the machine actually fires quicker after the repairs.

Therefore at the flag drop…a hit of the button along with a strong kick equaled Holeshot!
He said he's never had it jump like it did…first off the line, first to the corner and first leaving the infield…Nice.

Second corner after the start...

The start cut into the lap around the 6 mile mark of a 10 mile setup and would result in a short first lap of around 12 minutes, after that around 28 minutes per lap, 7 laps for Andy.

This year there happened to be a few new parts to the track; old railroad bed with swamp on both side and a football field length run up a rocky creek with a nice mud bank exit. These areas would play into the final results for a lot of classes, including the pros.

First lap thru showed him in 3rd and down 18 seconds to 2nd, with another 12 seconds to 1st…race on. This would be the last from his transponder, on the blink for the rest of the race.

He settled into a good pace, pushing hard in the open stuff and was very careful at picking his lines in the nasty stuff... stayed very consistant. He would end up taking the lead with 2 laps to go and stretching his lead to right around 3 minutes at the finish line… The time sheet is not fixed yet…I have talked to the official scoring guy, they have lots of fixes that will be updated when they are all done. But everyone else in his class knows who came in first…just have to get it officially fixed.

4 Stroke B lites, 1st in class…(when he gets his lap back) FIXED!!
Link to class lap times… (they missed his second lap…so his 3rd lap got logged as a long 2nd) FIXED!

Great to see, I was wondering if he had a problem when it only showed 1 lap. But then I realized they had transponder issues & figured he was still out there hauling it.............
