  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC/TE 310 vs. New FE 350?

95jersey

Husqvarna
AA Class
Has anyone tried both? Or has anyone gone from a 310 to a new 350? Just curious the difference between the 2. I know they are totally different bikes. Considering a new 350 and currently have a TXC310R

We had a KTM 350 and I have a 13 and 14 TXC 310. The 350 was nice (But blew up, long story) but not worth the money going from a 310 for the following reasons:
  • Doubt you will get much out of your 310 either on resale or trade to cover cost difference on New Husky
  • Power on the 310 is awesome. If you are going to upgrade your power, you should just take the plunge and go with a 450 and be prepared for slowing it down.
Just my 2 cents. Heck if money is no object, I would say go for it. But not sure you will be happy. Go ride a 350 first.

I've ridden both. Like them both. They are different. The husky has a tight spaced trans and makes more on the bottom making it snappier. The 350 likes to be reved and make more overall power. The trans on the KTM has a better spread. The Husky handles better to me and feels smaller and lighter. Husky seems more focused to racing and the KTM more do it all. The KTM comes in several flavors and they feel totally different. I ride an Xc once in and while and a W too. The XC is much faster and has a linkage. The W is smoother and has PDS which I do not love but dont hate. Both get the job done well.
