  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC 511 pipe

Thanks. So, I screwed up my original question. I meant will a 2012 TE 511 stock pipe fit on an 2011 TXC 511. Bike has a FMF megabomb that's customized for the autotuner so I don't want to change the header pipe. Anybody know if this setup will work? I saw a used one for a decent price and wanted to see if it made a difference in noise over the Factory 4.1 that's installed.

Have you figured this out? I have a stock header and muffler with the auto tune bung welded in if you want to swap. I also have the Akro muffler.

A stock muffler won't fit a megabomb header, if that's your question.

Sorry, just seeing this again. Domrvt, yep that was my question. Figured it out when I couldn't get it to fit. I'm good, almost. Found a stock header and had a shop weld on the bung I but misjudged the location a hair and it hits the oil recirculation unit. Decided to just plug it and leave the O2 sensor off and it still runs like a champ, but maybe a little rich. The bike is still seems stupid fast with this setup.

Now I just need to get the gearing straightened out. Today I was riding fairly tight, wet trails with red clay and rarely got it out of 1st gear. On my DRZ I would have been in 2nd & 3rd. The Husky is happy in 1st at 20-25mph and anything under 10 I'm working the clutch. Seems like really high gearing.

Avlbrew,
If you are running the bike in Race Map II, the O2 sensor is disregarded by the ecu anyway, so not having it installed will make no difference.

Dangermouse449, The bike has a power commander and autotune. Last time the O2 sensor was hooked up was with FMF 4.1 so I assumed that it just locked whatever settings it was using at the time I unhooked it. That's why I figured it is running rich now with the more restrictive exhaust.
