  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC 449 Autoclutch and Rear brake

I am seriously considering going with the EFM Autoclutch for my 449. I had the Rekluse Zstart pro on my 07 450 and I liked the ability to override the autoclutch with the lever. From what I understand there will be no over ride with the EFM:-( so I was thinking I can use my clutch lever/master cylinder for a left hand rear brake set up. Has anyone done this mod? I think it should be pretty easy, just get a new line made up.

Anyone have any experience with the EFM on a 449 or 511? Any pros and cons?

Thanks

Happy Christmas

The EFM I had on my TE 250 had an over ride. If fact if had the light feeling very similar to the z-start pro. I couldn't tell the different in the feel of engagement or over ride between the 2.

I have both the left hand rear brake and the EFM for my TXC 511. I am having problems with the bike flaming out. I am ordering a JD tuner to help with that issue. It does not help any matter that I am hard on the throttle.
I love the EFM, I have Pictures if needed.

I can't help with the EFM but I have both of my Huskies setup with LHRB's using the stock clutch master cylinder (05 and 09), they work just fine. I don't know what the newer bikes use but with the older Magura's and the mineral oil they need to be totally pulled apart and cleaned very good before using brake fluid. And for those with brake lights, I used a 90 degree fitting and the brake pressure switch right at the master.
