  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just got a set of these bars in yesterday and got to throw them on late last night after work. Just got back in from a short ride and all I can say is that these bars are freaking awesome!! On jumps or rough square edge stuff it literally makes the front end waaayyy less harsh. It's kind of hard to explain but it doesn't as much feel like the bars are flexing, it just feels like you have better suspension that is actually soaking up the rough stuff. Very awesome mod and my hands didn't go numb commuting to work either!!

Very interesting. I snapped a few DH MTB comp bars, will be interesting to see how these hold up. Is there a warranty?

They look good except the fact that you need to use their handguards, which coincidently look like standard guards from first look. I really like the HDB setup and tapping the bar ends looks impossible but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure if the bars happen to snap (which they claim they won't) they will replace them. I haven't really looked too much into their warranty. I made the purchased based off of reading a lot of positive reviews on them so I'm hoping that they hold up!! The do significantly cut down on vibration. I noticed all of the vibration on my bike was during the commute to work which is all on pavement and I would have to shake my hand out quite a few times b/c it would go numb. Rode the bike in this morning and I didn't have that issue. They seem like they are a relatively small company that are selling a ton of bars at the moment being all of them are on back order. They got mine to me in a little under two weeks.

You're right reveille. I don't run the heavy duty bark busters so it was a non issue to me but looking at the ends of the bars, it doesn't look like it could be tapped.

Yeah they're definitely not cheap but are cheaper than Flexx bars. I'm a tattoo artist so I have achy hands more often than not so any modifications I can make to my bike to make riding it more enjoyable is worth every penny to me. Still can't get over the awesomeness of the Rekluse!! Without a doubt the best aftermarket part I ever purchased for a bike. I'll report more on these once I get to go on a good ride with them but so far so good!!

Have had mine since last fall. Love them. They also have a slight break-in period. They get better! Every time I jump on conventional bars now, I don't go 5 minutes before I am wondering why it is so harsh and my wrists/elbows/shoulders hurt.

AHH! That's what your avatar is! Nice work...

Design some decals for my Husky. Picture my avatar... with you're handywork. INSANE!!

I actually used to run a graphics business and made dirt bike and atv graphics for a few years. Got busier tattooing than selling vinyl so I sold off my printers.

wallybean, have you had any good crashes on yours yet??

Have I had any crashes....................:lol::lol:. I double flipped my bike down a cliff off a narrow trail, 15 mph endo where the bars almost ripped my thigh open, 30 mph face plant off a boulder landing, all with severe stress put on the bars. I am on my second set of TE Bark busters as I broke both of the original ones. My buddy Jon was asking me a couple of weekends ago why I didn't put on all my new plastic and graphics bling. It will last all of one ride with me. Unfortunately I don't seem to be adverse to piling my bike up into a wad. My talent falls a bit short of my typical riding speed and I am slow. Bars have taken it all and look like new!

I have two rides on a new pipe now and it looks new.....maybe that is the key, put the bling on and then I at least fall away from the trouble.

Any chance you cant take a picture of them - specifically the bar end where the bark buster insert would go?

I just installed some Flexx bars on my TE511. No need to run their handguards, they offer brackets to use Cycra Probend (or Zeta/Sicass ones that use the Probend shape).

Jason @ Flexx was awesome at answering my emails quickly..

Will ride with them Sunday..
