  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Tubliss system

Husqvarna
B Class
I have been using tubliss for over a year and really like the system, I use bridgestone 403 and 404 intermediate tires at 10 psi. I ride eastern conditions with lots of roots and rocks in KY. Some are saying with tubliss use dunlop mx71 front and d739AT rear, harder ties lower pressure. I am thinking of trying it out and they recommend 4 psi. Im thinking at such low pressure will the red tubliss liner wear out because of touching the tire much more with this lower pressure.

The red liner already touches the bead of the tire that's how it works. The bead of the red liner squeezes the bead of the tire and locks it against the rim. You should have no problems people are running the d739at with 0 psi in that set up. I run 7 psi with an MT43.

I know how the system works. Im talking about the outer diameter of the liner rubing the tire.
The liner rides in the drop center of the rim so I could see the hard terrain tire flexing to the pointof touching the red liner. You should be fine. Give us a ride report whe you can.
Tim.

do you guys have issues with air leaking out if the bike sits a week or two? I got them when they first came out but I had them both almost go flat if they would sit over a week. Filling them up before a ride they would be totally fine during the ride, but it was so diconcerting I switchwd back to regular tubes.

Mine lose a little air but dont go flat. With standard tubes I would take for granted checking the air, now i check air religiously.

The instructions state clearly that the bladder loses air over time. If thats an issue, fill the bladder with nitrogen.

I've been using Tubliss since they came out with an 18" rear system.... That's been a while & I have had ZERO problems. I've used many different tires & the best has been the desert tire on the front & rear. The MX-71 front & 739 rear was golden, but the new AT-81 front & rear are the best combo with the Tubliss system I've ever used when racing. And of course I have a trials tire (MT-43) mounted on another rear wheel just because I love a trials tire in the rocks & roots from time to time when trail riding. 6-7 psi in the front & 3-5 psi in the rear.
