• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I think they're still in the midst of the upgrade and things are not exactly as they will be in the future. Growing pains...:)

The TT site is very s l o w tonight I think it needs more work. Or... just put it back like it was.
 
Looks good to me. Navigation's a bit different. I usually only cruise in there to look at the classifieds there, though. lol
 
I understand running a web site isn't free and site sponsors are usually pretty cool offering many useful products and services pertaining to the needs and wants of the forum users. However I think TT went overboard with their ads, I'm tired of seeing Buell and insurance adds in the middle of all the threads. TTs old format was much much nicer.

My thoughts exactly. Now there's ads speckled throughout the body of all the post titles. Not to mention the fire engine red text. Since the change, my eyes can hardly stand to stay for more than a minute or two. As a result, my visits there will be few and far between. No big deal for me since Cafe Husky delivers everything I need for my daily Husqvarna "fix". :thumbsup: Did I mention I LOVE it here?
 
I don't care too much for the new format...I have been spending less time there anyway...
 
Apparently the mods at TT didn't take kindly to my comments about the changes...I got banned forever.:lol: Not loosing sleep over it though, the place has turned into a mess with all the ads everywhere. Mods also read PMs between people so be careful what you say...
 
Ok...maybe it's just me, but I don't see any ads :excuseme:

I'm not crazy about how it looks, though.

Whenever my cursor passes over an underlined word (all over the place) an add pops up, which blocks my view of reading the thread and takes about 5 - 10 seconds to go away.
