• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Truly Inspirational! Doug Henry at it again!!

Had the pleasure to ski with him (he in his special rig) and me gimping along while I was recovering from being wounded. There was a gruop of us from Walter rReed on a PT ski trip with a grup called Wounded Warriors. We talked about bikes and I used to race and yada yada yada and he was big factor in me getting a bike again and attempting to race again. only raced once but not only finished but got a second. Would not be riding as soon as I was without his encouragement. Huge heart. Amazing and motivating.

Doug Henry is one of those stories that just brings a tear to your eye every time. Guy has been through so much and not only does he keep pushing on, but he does it with a smile on his face. A true champion in every way.

I heard that when Doug received his new Websters dictionary he opened it to the "Q" section, tore out the page that has "Quit" and ate the page.

I would not be surprised! :)

That is awesome!! It looks like he is seatbelted in too. How many of you have ever tried to ride aggresively without taking your feet off the pegs at some point to maintain balance?

Very cool Doug Henry, very cool.

I remember back around 1992 when Doug showed up at the Damm Good Hare Scamble in Thomaston CT and smoked the NETRA elite on his factory Honda 250. Skill and balls exemplified, he was sailing off a 100 ft drop off from a marble ledge that put him between two trees about 40" apart at the bottom lap after lap. He made it look effortless and it was evident that he was truly in a league of his own.

I was parked next to him and at the time I was riding a WMX125 Husky and he commented on the bike and my holeshot in the Novice class at time. I had a quick chat with him and he was really just a cool modest guy. Needless to say he impressed the heck out of me and I am just stoked to see him rolling again. This is what heart is all about, this man was made to fly. I hope that the technology eventually gets developed to reverese his, David Baileys and the paralysis of so many others.

My GOSH! This guy is amazing! It is hard to believe he is riding again! Few people have what it takes to go on like this. Although I have never met him, I have followed his career from the start & you can just see the happiness & love & determination he has had all his life. To be paralyzed & still keep these qualities is awesome. It would be so much easier to give up! I agree, there should be a movie on him one day, but it sounds like he has a few more chapters to fill. Makes me feel stupid to think I only have a few years left to ride.
