• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This is really too bad for this young man ... He'll just have to wait out the healing process again ...

TREY CANARD UPDATE:
"Racer X contacted American Honda Racing's Trey Canard this afternoon, and Canard explained that he has indeed rebroken his femur in his crash yesterday afternoon during the second moto at Washougal. The break is similar to the one he incurred in April. Luckily, he has not damaged the rod that his been in his leg since he originally broke the femur at Washougal in 2008, so the injury is not as complicated as it could have been.

When Canard broke his femur this year, it knocked him out of racing from April up until last weekend's return at Millville, so chances are he will not be able to return for the conclusion of the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross tour. Look for a more exact timetable to be released soon via his team. And we'll keep you posted on his status.
Get well soon, Trey!"

hated to see that. a few more inches and his front wheel would have cleared the crest. Sorry for Trey he came back very strong from the last break.

Doesn't anybody wonder if this is a sign? Reed crashes and rides away. Canard breaks his femur 3 times. I'd take that hint...

I broke my femur and they left the rod in for 2 years and after they took it out it was at least 6 months before it was 100%. I'm not sure how strong it was with the rod in but I remember them saying if I broke the femur and bent the rod while it was still in it would be one hell of a mess to fix.

He was looking great before that happened. Really sucks, he seems like a decent kid.

Here are a few of the shots I took of him during the first moto...

Later,

I don't care how young he is, he needs more time to heal.
Coming up on two years after breaking my femur in 8 pieces and I feel pretty good but don't think I am ready to splatter another tree with the same leg. Actually don't think I want to do it with either leg!

Later,

Great pics Jake.

I was just below the crash so couldnt see it over the hump.....very unfortunate for Trey

on a side note anyone see the drunk shirtless dude hangin over the fence wavin the american flag?? im suprised he didnt cause a accident. then after canard wrecked he jumps the fence and gets on the track and starts wavin riders over lol seen one of the people helpin canard look over like who is this guy hahaha

Canard seems like a nice guy, hope he heals up fast. :)
He does come across very well on camera .... I read where it is a new break and not the existing ones ... Not sure of his age but its his first 450 season and he's got 3 breaks on 1 leg apparently ... Not the best start to what might be a long career ...
