    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Trail Riding Around Sydney Australia

Do any of you Aussie riders have any tips for places to ride around Sydney? My bike's not rego'd. Somewhere legal would be good, but some tips on good fire trails or state forests would also be good.

Are there any ride parks in areas like Penrith?

There is heaps of riding all around Sydney, But you need Rego for all of it. You get caught & its about a $2500.00 fine. Closet Park is in Windsor, but its more for kids & Pit Bikes. Closest after that would be Lochmarree or Binacrombie which is Goulbourne way

In NSW you need a road registered bike to ride in state forests and things. The only place you can legally ride unregistered bikes is these parks and on private land (with consent) unfortunately.

I have found riding around The Letter A (Olney State Forest) to be very good with an awesome mix of fire trails, nice technical single track, hill climbs, etc. and it's only an hour or so North of Sydney.
 
Louee station at Lou near Mudgee is a top location 12000 acres with 2 MX tracks a 20 km circuit around the property with ST coming of the circuit that is graded like a ski run ie blue, red, black.
If you ride in the Clarence/Zig Zag railway area drive well into the forest and park. You will probably not get booked.
 
Careful with Louee if plan on doing the trails. It is VERY rocky there, and the trails are not maintained so are pretty whooped out in sections. I would advise using hard rubber tyres and ultra heavy duty tubes if I were going to ride there again.
