  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Trail Ready TE 310

We love our Oset! I have an 11 year old daughter and 13 year old son and we built a nice little mini-enduro course on our 1 acre. That is what is cool about the bike; it can be ridden anytime and most anywhere because it is silent. I am around 175lbs and over 6ft tal, but can still have fun practicing trials riding with it. the amount of torque is surprising for the size of the motor and you can adjust the power just by turning a small potentiometer. We get about 2hrs with the power set below max and probably about 60mins at max. For these reasons it is a much better bike for playing around the yard then riding trails. It gets the kids used ri standinging, and because it only weighs around 65lbs, they can rasily pick it up when they fall. Because there are no liquids, you can just fold down the car seats and pop it in as needed. They can ride when they wish without disturbing anyone and do mot have to wait around until I can take them somewhere. There is also no hot pipe to get burned on. If the bnatty dirations ever get sorted out, I can imagine that there will be many more options emering on e market. I know that GasGas alreay has an adult sized electric trials bike out there. It is not cheap at around 2k, but in our case was a good choice.

Best,
Sweet thanks for the information, I was debating going right to a PW50 or going with one of the Osets, I think for a first bike the Oset makes more sense. Heck I will probably have to save up and get one for myself, I have always wanted to do trails, I had a Trials bicycle back in the day I watched a guy named Hans Ray do some amazing things on his trials bicycle. Thanks again for the information!

yeah, he is amazing. there is a new guy named Danny McAsskill whoj is unreal. Google his way back home video. I am a bicycle guy but more road race and cyclocross. The trials stuff is mind bending whether on. peddles or pegs....

This is good, though I prefer to mute it:
