  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Trading TR650 for FE501S?

Wasn't planning on looking at other Huskys today but I did. Also got a chance to sit on a DRZ400 Supermoto. The DRZ was very nice, however I wouldn't trade my 650 every day bike for a 400 since I commute on the highway.

Anyways, I sat on and checked out a FE501 and I liked the way it looked and felt sitting on it. Would need a lower seat though. I put a pre-order deposit down on a 501S.

Since I'm financing my '13 TR650 Strada and I'd have to finance a FE501S, would you all trade or sell the TR650?

I wouldn't want to use a 501S for a daily commuter or for long distance. I've got a TE449 and while it's street legal, it's just not that great of a street bike but set up excellent for off road use. My Dad has a Strada and I've put a few miles on it and I can honestly say its no contest as the far superior street mount.

Probably not the answer you were hoping for because I honestly think you should keep both!

Trade or sell...how much will your dealer give you for it? Those 501's are supposed to be a very sweet ride but agree with above not a long distance road warrior
